MY STORY:
I WAS FOSTERED BY PAT AND JIM CURTIS
I am probably 10 years old now. I lived outside on a farm all my life but when my owners got livestock guard dogs, these dogs bullied me and wouldn't let me eat out of the self-feeder.
I was rehomed to another farm. The elderly woman there did gardening. I became bored and dug enormous holes, which were dangerous for this woman as she sometimes stumbled in them.
A breeder who lived close-by took me home. She bought her supplies at G&E Pharmacy, a pet store in Edmonton.
There, I first saw Pat. She and another Brittany owner with a puppy were talking.
My handler approached them and then arranged to meet Pat again the next time she was in Edmonton.
When that day arrived (October 25, 2008) Pat took me back home with her to Millet, Alberta.
I cannot remember ever having a bath in my earlier homes. I had large mats of fur and fleas all over.
When I arrived at Pat's home, the first thing she did was give me a haircut and bath. BOY DID IT FEEL GOOD!
Pat set about to find a nice new home for me. She sent emails to everyone she knew to see if someone would take a sweet old gal like me - I have been neutered, am surprisingly well house-trained, am gentle and love to cuddle and get lots of pats.
Kurt and Corinne wanted to take me home as a friend for their other Brittany, Coulee.
At the time, Coulee had just had surgery on her leg and had to be kept quiet for 8 weeks, so I stayed on with Pat, Jim and their Brittanys till January 18, 2009.
Coulee and I have become good buddies and look out for each other. If Coulee can't find me in the house, Corrinne tells her to go look out in the yard. She then comes outside and when she finds me, gives a big sign of relief .
We get to sleep on the bed at night. I get lots of love. I'm a real lucky girl and am very happy!
